NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS
2008 ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Gells Road and Skopit Road
Contract TE05-08
The Town of Richmond Hill intends to reconstruct Skopit Road and Gells Road this summer as part of an ongoing program directed at improving your road and water infrastructure networks.
The scope of the proposed work includes the complete reconstruction of the road itself to local road standards (8.5m/28ft.+/- width) including both the granular sub-base component and the asphalt, removal of the existing curb and replacement with new curb and gutter and replacement of the existing 50 year old cast iron watermain with a new 150mm or 6" PVC (plastic) watermain.
It is expected that all necessary approvals, the tendering process and contract award will be complete by the week of July 18th with an anticipated construction start on or about July 28, 2008. Current scheduling estimates put the duration of the work at approximately ten weeks to complete to base asphalt taking us to mid October with the second lift of asphalt (finish course) to be placed in the spring of 2009.
You will receive additional more specific construction notification for the project including the name of the successful Contractor, the Towns Municipal inspector, Town contacts, and scheduling following actual award of the contract.
