Press Release: CENTRAL LIBRARY CLOSURE

Posted 2009-03-04

Richmond Hill Central Library (Major Mac & Yonge) is closed due to flooding that occurred early Sunday March 1st. Several areas in the Library were affected necessitating the closure which will likely be 2 weeks in duration.

The Town of Richmond Hill and various contractors have been working steadily to clean the affected areas.
Damaged carpet has been removed and sent out for cleaning and the wet books and other library material have been sent for freeze drying and preservation.
The Library's 3 branches remain open and we encourage our patrons to use these facilities. Additional hours are being offered at our community branches.

Oak Ridges Moraine Library - (905)773-5533 and Richvale Library - (905)889-2847

Richmond Green Library - (905)780-0711

Library materials can be returned at any of the branches and all 3 branches will be selling bus passes and tickets.

The Library will continue to update the public regarding the status of Central Library, so we encourage our clientele to check our website for further information regarding hold, hours of operation, etc. Visit www.rhpl.richmondhill.on.ca

We would like to thank the citizens of Richmond Hill for their understanding during this time.
